Six purpose-built tools covering every major financial decision Kiwis face — from buying a home to planning retirement.

Why Calqhub

Built for New Zealand,
not borrowed from overseas

Most financial calculators use US or Australian assumptions. Calqhub is built from the ground up using NZ legislation, tax rates and real market data.

100% NZ rates & legislation

Every calculator uses current NZ PAYE brackets, the ACC earner levy, KiwiSaver rules, RBNZ DTI limits and NZ regional house price data — updated each year.

Your data never leaves your device

All calculations run in your browser. We don't store your income, savings or property details on any server. No account required, ever.

Free, no ads inside the tools

Calqhub is free to use. We don't show ads inside the calculator tools themselves — no distractions, no upsells while you're working through your numbers.

FAQ

Common questions

Are Calqhub's calculators free to use?

Yes — all Calqhub calculators are completely free. No account, credit card or sign-up is required. We don't show ads inside the calculator tools.

Are the NZ tax rates and interest rates up to date?

Yes. Calqhub uses NZ 2026 PAYE income tax brackets, the current ACC earner levy rate, KiwiSaver contribution rules and current market interest rates. We update these annually. Always verify specific figures with IRD or your bank before making major decisions.

Does Calqhub store my financial information?

No. All calculations run entirely in your browser. We never send your income, savings, debt or property details to any server. Your data stays on your device and is gone when you close the tab.

How accurate is the home buying calculator?

The home buying calculator uses real NZ lending rules — including the RBNZ's 6× DTI cap, a standard stress-test rate, PAYE-accurate take-home pay, and actual regional house price data. It also includes Kāinga Ora First Home Loan eligibility checks. Results are indicative and based on standard assumptions; your actual borrowing capacity depends on your full financial history and your lender's criteria. We always recommend talking to a mortgage adviser before making an offer.

What is the Kāinga Ora First Home Loan?

The Kāinga Ora First Home Loan lets eligible first-home buyers purchase a property with as little as a 5% deposit, backed by a government guarantee. To qualify, all buyers must be NZ citizens or residents, household income must be under $95,000 for a single buyer (or $150,000 for two or more), and it must be your first home. The First Home Grant was discontinued in May 2024 and is no longer available. Our home buying calculator checks your eligibility automatically.

Can I use these calculators on my phone?

Yes — Calqhub is fully responsive and designed to work on mobile, tablet and desktop. Every calculator is tested across all screen sizes.

Is Calqhub financial advice?

No. Calqhub provides financial calculators for informational and educational purposes only — this is not financial advice. The results are estimates based on the inputs you provide and standard NZ assumptions. For advice about your specific situation, please consult a licensed financial adviser or mortgage broker.
