3. Accuracy of Calculator Results
3.1 Use of Real NZ Rates and Rules
Calqhub uses real New Zealand tax rates, interest rates, KiwiSaver rules, and lending criteria for the current year. However:
- Interest rates are approximate and change frequently; lender rates will differ
- Tax brackets and rates are for the 2026/27 financial year and may change in future budgets
- Government policies (KiwiSaver top-ups, First Home Loan eligibility, NZ Super rates) change regularly
- Rates in our calculators are updated annually but not in real-time
3.2 Calculation Assumptions
Each calculator relies on standard assumptions that may not match your situation:
Mortgage Calculator: Uses RBNZ 6× debt-to-income cap, standard stress-test rates, and Kāinga Ora eligibility rules. Actual borrowing capacity depends on your full financial history, employment, credit score, and your lender's specific criteria.
Income Tax Calculator: Assumes full-time employment under PAYE in the 2026/27 tax year. Results exclude student loans, working for families, child support, business income, investment income (beyond standard tax treatment), and other deductions or credits. Consult Inland Revenue (IRD) or a tax accountant for accurate tax positions.
Investment Calculator: Assumes steady compound growth at the rate you specify. Real investment returns vary annually, are affected by inflation, and depend on market conditions. Past returns are not indicative of future performance.
KiwiSaver Calculator: Assumes consistent contributions, 3.5% default fund returns, and current government top-up rules (post-Budget 2025). Actual returns depend on your chosen fund, market performance, and contribution patterns. First-home withdrawal estimates assume standard KiwiSaver accounts and may differ if you hold specialist schemes.
GST Calculator: Applies 15% standard rate. Does not account for GST exemptions, reverse-charge mechanisms, or special GST rules for particular industries.
Retirement Calculator: Projects NZ Super at current rates (post-April 2026) and assumes steady KiwiSaver contributions and market returns. Real retirement outcomes depend on actual employment history, investment decisions, inflation, and policy changes to NZ Super.
3.3 No Guarantee of Accuracy
While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty that calculator results are error-free, up-to-date, or applicable to your situation. We strongly recommend verifying results with official sources (IRD for tax, Inland Revenue for KiwiSaver, RBNZ for lending rules, etc.) before making decisions.
4. Limitation of Liability
4.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all calculators are provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties including:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy, completeness, or timeliness
- Absence of errors, viruses, or malicious code
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
4.2 Liability Exclusion

- Not scrape, reproduce, or distribute calculator tools or content without permission
6. Intellectual Property Rights

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Both you and Calqhub agree to submit to the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts. Any legal action must be brought in the District Court of New Zealand or, if applicable, the High Court of New Zealand.
10. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision is severed, and all remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
11. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Calqhub regarding your use of the Site. Any prior agreements, understandings, or negotiations are superseded.
